The Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle was founded on June 6, 1981 in the Pittsburgh area to support people interested in Taino spirituality and indigenous Caribbean traditions.
Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle is dedicated to the revitalization, preservation, and practice of Indigenous Taino spirituality. Our mission is to nurture community balance, cultural resilience, and spiritual growth by honoring ancestral wisdom through education, ceremony, and service.
The purpose of the Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle is to provide a sacred space where individuals and communities can reconnect with Indigenous Taino teachings, celebrate sacred traditions, and support one another on their spiritual journeys. We strive to promote intercultural understanding, respect for all living beings, and the transmission of indigenous knowledge for the empowerment of future generations.
We envision a thriving community where Taino spiritual traditions are alive, accessible, and transformative—fostering harmony among people, land, and spirit. Through ceremony, educational programs, and collaborative leadership, we inspire cultural pride, personal integrity, and a deeper connection to the sacredness of life. Our vision is for the Caney Indigenous Spiritual Circle to be a guiding light for Indigenous spiritual renewal and unity.
